Bespoke Record Player & Vinyl Cabinet
Newton Longville, Buckinghamshire
Newton Longville, Buckinghamshire
Our client had a Brian Eno-designed record player - a sculptural, limited-edition piece that deserved to be both showcased and protected. They also needed practical storage for vinyl records and audio equipment, all within a small footprint that would suit a specific corner of their home.
The challenge? Designing something that was visually striking, complementary to the equipment’s aesthetic, and made to last - while still being deeply practical for everyday use.
We crafted a freestanding cabinet in stained oak, with soft curves to echo the turntable’s rounded form. Key features include:
A solid oak column at the rear, offering visual balance and housing the clear turntable lid mount
Integrated amp shelf, fitted precisely to accommodate the client’s Argon Audio equipment
Deep lower shelves for vinyl storage, with enough clearance for both LPs and 45s
A flush plinth base, adding a refined detail while maintaining stability and ease of cleaning
Every element was considered with proportion and practicality in mind – from the grain direction and finish to cable access and ventilation.
The finished piece is more than just a cabinet - it’s a centrepiece. It celebrates the client’s passion for music while keeping everything organised and easily accessible. The curved form, tactile wood grain, and minimalist styling make it feel like a natural part of the home, without overshadowing the player itself.
