This bespoke walnut media unit was designed and handcrafted by Alan Cooper to provide practical storage while making a feature of the natural beauty of the timber.

The piece combines a substantial low cabinet with open shelving above, creating a balanced design around the television without overwhelming the room.

Designed Around the Space

Rather than using a standard media unit, the furniture was designed specifically for the proportions of the room and the client's requirements.

The lower cabinet provides generous concealed storage, while the open shelving above offers space for books, decorative pieces and personal items.

The tall, tapered framework gives the piece a lighter appearance and draws the eye upwards, making full use of the available wall space.

Natural Walnut

Walnut was chosen for its rich colour, distinctive grain and warmth.

The simple design allows the character of the timber to take centre stage, with clean lines and carefully considered proportions creating a piece that feels contemporary while still showcasing traditional cabinetmaking craftsmanship.

The natural variation within the walnut means every surface has its own individual character.

Made to Last
